Fabrication Manager
In addition to hands-on fabrication, this position is responsible for technical fabrication and installation designs as well as management of project details in these departments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to use their expertise on a constant variety of creative, technical and logistical challenges.  


Daily mix of project design/detail management and hands-on fabrication.

Quality Assurance at all stages of sign fabrication.

Consult with all departments for project detail coordination.

Understand the overall intent for each sign and guide all contributing factors to ensure that fabrication and installation decisions and processes support best outcome.

Develop technical sign fabrication plans that fit manufacturing and end-environment constraints.

Analyze elevation drawings and site surveys to confirm feasibility of designs and correct sizing and placement of signs.

Designate materials and methods for sign fabrication with appropriate feasibility, safety, aesthetics, durability, and time/cost efficiency in mind.

Determine materials and methods for sign installation. Ensure correct methods are chosen for unquestioningly safe sign install.

Formulate material orders and communicate to the purchasing department.

Plan and implement fabrication schedule in consultation with general management and team.

Employee safety and training in fabrication department.

Interactive and collaborative leadership.

Investigate new trends and technologies in the signage industry.


Proven ability to transform conceptual sign designs into efficient and high quality structural fabrication and production plans.

Proficiency in:

All aspects of metal (aluminum and steel) fabrication, materials, extrusions, tools (shears, brakes, saws), and processes.
Electrical wiring and UL requirements.
Concrete foundations/footings.
Blueprint/engineering drawing/ elevation reading.
Comprehensive knowledge of building construction elements and how they impact installation methods.

Ability to take responsibility for problem-solving and decision-making with the experience to back it up.

Ability to be deadline-driven.

Commitment to quality work.

Read and write English

High school diploma or GED

Driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

Welding Certification.

UL 48 Certification.

MA Construction Supervisor License.

Useful experience:

Hoisting and rigging.

CNC router programming and operation.

Familiarity with diesel engine and hydraulic systems maintenance.
