Experienced Sign Service and Installation Technician

 

This position comes with an ever-changing variety of daily assignments for sign installation, repair, electrical service and more.  Ideal for someone who has a broad range of skills, enjoys problem-solving and is comfortable with independence and responsibility.

 

This job is physically demanding and requires strength and manual dexterity for the lifting, balancing, climbing and other duties involved.

You must be able to:

Put safety as a highest priority as you perform all activities

Travel and work “on the road” all day, with some overtime and irregular hours (Very infrequent overnights.)

Work outside year-round in all kinds of weather.

Lift heavy objects, 80 pounds.

Work at heights on ariel lifts, sometimes staging or confined spaces.

Communicate with management team and analyze work orders, plans, drawings and specifications to determine correct procedure for installation.

Operate hoisting equipment.

Use tools, hand and power.

Troubleshoot and repair problems with electrical components or digital message centers on-site.

Ability to take and calculate accurate measurements.

Ability to maintain a high level of quality work at a fast pace.

Safety:

Must know and use proper safety procedures according to OSHA guidelines and company procedures and safety policies.

Worksite hazard assessment.

Training:

Must be willing to undergo ongoing training and continuing education as needed.

Requirements:

Read and write english
High school diploma or GED
Driver’s license
Have and maintain clean driving record
Pass drug testing and DOT medical card exam
Maintain your own set of tools
Proper outerwear and footwear
Possession of or ability to obtain the following credentials:

CDL

MA hoisting 1B

OSHA crane certification

CT limited electrical for signs

RI limited electrical for signs and limited crane for signs

Ideal Experience:

Knowledge of all types of signage, such as channel letters, pylons and monument signs. Neon, LEDs, electronic message centers, electrical wiring and components (ballasts, power supplies), welding, acetylene torch,
